Pia Patatian Launches Noora Films at the AFM, Boards Sales on Celyn Jones’ ‘Madfabulous’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Sales veteran Pia Patatian has used this year’s American Film Market to launch production and sales banner Noora Films.

Alongside unveiling her new company, Patatian has come onboard to handle international rights on alternative period drama “Madfabulous” from BAFTA Cymru winner Celyn Jones (“The Almond and the Seahorse”). Jones directs from the debut feature script by Welsh writer Lisa Baker.

‘Madfabulous,’ the British indie feature from actor, writer and director Celyn Jones, has secured global sales representation from Upgrade and the Gersh Agency.

The film — described as an “alternative period drama” and inspired by the life of the fifth Marquess of Anglesey — was recently chosen by the British Council and BFI for their 2025 crop of Great 8 projects showcased in Cannes.

Celyn Jones’ second feature, Madfabulous, is among the eight projects taking part in the 2025 Cannes Great 8 online showcase of UK feature films from first-and second-time UK filmmakers.

Variety: Natalie Dormer, Assaad Bouab to Star in Celyn Jones Thriller Series ‘Minotaur’ (EXCLUSIVE)

“Game of Thrones” star Natalie Dormer is set to lead new Celyn Jones thriller series “Minotaur” alongside “Call My Agent’s” Assaad Bouab.

Jones writes and directs the six-part Welsh/French drama, which he created and will be produced via Mad As Birds (“The Almond and The Seahorse”), the prod-co he runs with Sean Marley. Charles Sturridge (“Marcella”) will also direct.
